Project Overview

This project included two phases an audio phase and an organ phase.

Audio Phase Highlights:

  • Purchase and installation of RCF Slimline column speakers at front and rear delays

  • Replace cantor and pulpit microphones with audio-technica Podium Mics

  • Two audix microboom microphones for choir

  • Two EAW speakers mounted on rear beam facing congregation for choir amplification

  • New Allen and Heath Qu-Pac rack mount mixer

  • Furman power conditioner and sequencer

  • New Shure wireless microphones for clergy

Organ Phase Highlights:

It was essential that the church found a pre-existing organ. Because of the feasibility of a free pre-existing organ it was possible for this parish to have a pipe organ. This three-manual Wick's pipe organ originated in First Christian Church in Cedar Rapids, IA. When the church closed the organ moved to Kansas City where it lived in storage for several years. When the parish realized it would not be possible to install they put it up for free.

The organ was moved back to Cedar Rapids and a local organ firm rewired a new SSOS control system and the organ was installed.  Andrew, then music director and our President of SSO, and his dad built the simple organ case seen in photos above. This was an organ project that included the parishioners in the moving of the organ and installation of the organ.
